Ingredient Notes
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this delicious dry rub wings appetizer!
Chicken Wings: I like to use the wings and drumettes that are already separated. I find these at Costco. They are called “party wings”. You can also buy regular wings and separate them yourself!
Olive Oil: You can also use avocado oil, whichever you prefer!
Dry Rub: This is a mix of onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, ground mustard, salt, and pepper. That’s it!
Recipe Step by Step
- Preheat your oven to 400. Line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat your wings dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl. Mix the spices together in a separate small bowl. Pour the olive oil onto the chicken, followed by the spices. Use your hands to mix everything together well. The spices should stick to the chicken wings so they are completely coated.
- Lay the wings out evenly on an oven-safe baking rack (if using*) on top of a baking sheet so they aren’t overlapping. Bake for 45 minutes. Check them halfway through and flip if they are getting too dark. (I didn’t need to flip mine). Broil for an additional 5 minutes at the end if you want them super crispy!
- Serve your keto chicken wings with your favorite dairy-free ranch or dipping sauce. I love Tessemae’s ranch!
Mary’s Tips & Tricks
Sauce: You can also coat your keto chicken wings with buffalo sauce or keto-friendly BBQ sauce once cooked!
Baking Tip: I’ve found that these dry rub wings crisp up nicely if you use an oven-safe baking rack on top of a baking sheet. If you place some tin foil on the pan, it makes for super easy clean-up. If you don’t have a rack to bake them on, placing them directly on a baking sheet is fine!

I made these wings for my family and we devoured them quickly! The recipe is perfect and foolproof. We used Tessemae’s Ranch and Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce for dipping.
These are the best! The whole family loved them.
Soooo yummy!! Made my own ranch. Grass fed chicken. These are a real keeper!
These wings were so great! I made the classic buffalo version (using Primal sauce) and a dry rub with this recipe. There was no time for pictures as they were all eaten by the time I thought of it. Super simple, and clean, ingredients and the directions simple to follow. The worst part of this recipe is waiting for the wings to cook!
We used a conventional oven since we don’t have an air fryer, but I’m sure that would have been faster 🙂
These wings couldn’t be easier or more delicious! The ingredients were all items on hand and the instructions were so simple. Will definitely make these again!!
This is my favourite recipe of them all!
Thank you Renee!
These are my family’s favorite wings! The recipe is so easy, and the flavor is outstanding.
Thanks, Kelly!
So good!!! crispy and flavorful. Also extremely easy to make. Definitely will be making these more often!
Thank you!!
“These are the best wings I’ve ever had. I think this is my new favorite meal you’ve made.” -My husband.

Woo hoo! Thanks, Cassie! So glad to hear it.
So glad I gave these a try. This is the ONLY way to make wings in my house now!
Yummalicious. Another tasty great one from Mary!
Easy to make…the results were fabulous.
Loved the taste! Easy and came out great. Thank you Mary!
First time I’ve ever made wings and this recipe knocked it out of the park! I live at altitude, so less cooking time, but simple, crispy, and delicious! 10/10
Can’t wait to try this recipe! I just got an air fryer and am wondering how they’d be in that. Anyone tried that cooking method?
Thank you!
I’ve made these twice in the air fryer and we are having them again tonight. They are amazing!
Yay! Thanks Judy!
How do you make these in the air fryer?
These were delicious! Super easy and will definitely be making again.
Made these today and they were so good and so easy!! I ate them with Tessemaes Ranch and my husband tossed his in hot sauce after baking. My husband loves wings and is picky about healthier versions of things and really enjoyed these!
Thanks Molly! So glad you enjoyed them!
Great rub!!
My husband requested this recipe to our “usual” way to do wings. It definitely stepped our wing game!
We loved the flavor and crispiness (I didn’t flip, but baked 55 min).
These wings were AH-MAZING! I’m not a wing fan but the rub was to die for. My husband made them for a NYE appetizer and they did not disappoint. Will definitely keep this recipe on hand and make these again and again. I love all of Mary’s recipes on the blog and in her cookbook because they are not only super easy but so so so delicious!
