The Best Air Fryer Turkey Burgers
Juicy, savory, and delicious ground turkey, feta, spinach, and spices make these air fryer turkey burgers a healthy, flavorful option that you’ll want to make on repeat. Simple ingredients and 20 minutes are all you need to cook fresh (or frozen!) turkey burgers for a delicious, easy, and healthy meal!
What Makes This Recipe Great
Ground turkey is healthy, inexpensive, and super versatile. However, if it’s not seasoned well, it can be super bland. We’ve all had dry turkey burgers that lacked that juicy burger texture and flavor, so I set out to create a recipe that had all the healthy benefits of turkey, but with tons of delicious flavor!
Who knew that turkey burgers in the air fryer were this quick and easy? Complete with a Greek flair, these delicious, juicy burgers are packed with spices, feta, and spinach and topped with tzatziki sauce to create the perfect, juicy burger! Simple ingredients and ready in just 20 minutes!
You can use frozen turkey patties, fresh ground turkey, or whatever you have on hand! Make your air fryer do all the work and pair them with these air fryer potato wedges.
Ingredient Notes
- Lean Ground Turkey: I like to buy organic ground turkey, but feel free to use your favorite! You can also use pre-formed turkey burgers- fresh or frozen and keep them plain or mix them with the additional ingredients and re-form them into patties.
- Crumbled Feta: You can buy feta that is already crumbled, or buy a block of feta and crumble it yourself! The blocks typically come in water and are fresher than other versions. Either way, feta is a delicious addition! Feel free to omit this for dairy-free or use a dairy-free alternative.
- Coconut Aminos: This is a gluten-free replacement for soy sauce and adds a ton of flavor to the air fryer turkey burger patties.
- Spices: Salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, onion powder, and minced garlic.
- Egg: This helps bind the patties together. If you have an egg allergy you can use a substitute like a chia egg (1 tbsp chia seeds + 2.5 Tbsp water) or a flax egg!
- Gluten-Free Crackers: Crushed-up Simple Mills Sea Salt crackers or crushed-up Siete Foods tortilla chips!
Recipe Step by Step
- Combine all of the turkey burger ingredients in a large bowl and mix gently using your hands. You want everything to be combined, but be sure not to overwork the meat or it will be tough!
- Form the meat mixture into 8 even patties, about 4 inches wide and 1 inch thick. Place the patties on a platter and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Use your thumb to make an imprint in the middle of each patty. This ensures they stay flat when grilling and don’t turn into a puffy ball!
- Preheat the air fryer to 375. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
- Cook the patties for 11-12 minutes (in batches if necessary so they aren’t overlapping), flipping halfway through. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. When it reads 165F then you know they are done!
How To Grill Turkey Burgers
If you prefer to make this turkey burger recipe on the grill, they will turn out just as delicious!
- Oil your grill grates before turning it on – use tongs and a paper towel dipped in olive oil or avocado oil and spread it on the grates. This ensures the burgers won’t stick!
- Heat your grill to medium heat.
- Cook the turkey burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side. Use a grill spatula to flip.
- Serve with your favorite toppings!
Mary’s Tips & Tricks
- Dairy-Free: Omit the feta for dairy-free – these will still be delicious!
- Storage: Store leftover cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on a skillet over the stove and serve with gluten-free hamburger buns and toppings!
- Burger Buns: This air fryer turkey burgers recipe is delicious between a gluten-free hamburger bun, lettuce-wrapped, or by itself!
- Frozen Turkey Burgers: If you’re using frozen turkey burgers, thaw them first so you can add all of the additional ingredients in a bowl, and then reform them into patties. If you’d prefer them plain and want to cook from frozen, adjust the cooking time and cook for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Very enjoyable
Wow- these were way better than I could have imagined! I never know what to make with ground Turkey and so happy I stumbled upon this recipe. They were so juicy and flavorful! I cooked them on the stove top and used scharr table crackers and they came out great. Next time I’ll skip the added salt since feta is salty, but they really are delicious.
Thanks Rachel!!
