Sausage, Potato & Broccoli Sheet Pan Supper {Whole30}
This sausage, potato, and broccoli sheet pan supper is Whole30 friendly and comes together in just 30 minutes. It is marinated in a savory sauce that takes this simple meal to a whole new level!
Anyone else love a sheet pan supper or meal that can be made in ONE pot or ONE pan? I don’t know about you, but for me, less dishes = more happiness. I am a big meat and potatoes kinda gal if you couldn’t already tell, so this combo of sausage, potato, and broccoli is RIGHT up my alley! It’s hearty and makes a ton of leftovers, so you are technically multi-tasking. Making dinner AND meal prepping for lunches and other dinners throughout the week at the same time!
Which sausage should I use?
I don’t know why I was so anti Aidell’s Chicken & Apple Sausage prior to a couple of weeks ago. I don’t even know if I had actually TRIED it until then, I just figured if you could get it at a normal grocery store and didn’t have to hunt it down at a Whole Foods or Sprouts, then it probably wasn’t that good. (so sad, I know… HA). It also seems to be the staple Whole30 sausage that people complain about getting sick of easily. Maybe that turned me off, as well. BUT, turns out it’s pretty freaking amazing, especially baked! Sometimes chicken sausages kinda gross me out if they aren’t cooked all the way through (even though they are pre-cooked, the consistency just freaks me out). However, baking/roasting them gets them nice and crispy and OH SO tasty.
I recently tried it with the Paleo Cracked Black Pepper and Basil Chicken Sausage (Sabatino’s brand- pictured above) from Costco, and OMG – so good!! I bet it would be delicious with some Pederson Farms Kielbasa, as well. Bottom line – use whatever sausage you want! Just check to make sure it’s sugar free if you’re doing a Whole30.
The simple marinade/sauce that goes over this is so versatile. You can really combine any meat and veggies and potatoes with the sauce and I can guarantee it will turn out tasty! The pan is your oyster. or whatever. LOL feel free to get creative!
The rule of thumb for sheet pan dinners is to make sure that everything is relatively the same thickness. The potatoes take a bit longer to cook than the sausage and broccoli in this meal, so we add them about 15 minutes after the start of cook time to even things out.
I like to dip this in some Whole30 compliant ranch dressing – Tessemae’s is my absolute favorite! I get it on Thrive Market, which is an awesome online health food store. They sell a ton of Whole30 compliant pantry items for less than retail price! Think Whole Foods meets Costco. Use this link to get 25% off your first Thrive Market order + a 30-day free trial! Oh and PS – if you aren’t a broccoli fan, try this. You may just become one 🙂

Sausage, Potato & Broccoli Sheet Pan Supper
Ingredients
- 1 package of 4 Aidell's Chicken & Apple Sausage, cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces, or chicken/pork sausage of choice
- 6-8 medium-sized red potatoes, cut into 1-2 inch cubes
- 1 head broccoli (or 12 oz package), chopped into florets
- ½ cup olive oil , or avocado oil
- ¼ cup coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Frank's Red Hot, or other hot sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes, more or less depending on how spicy you like things!
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper. Add diced potatoes to a medium sized bowl. Add chopped sausage and broccoli to a separate bowl.
- Whisk remaining ingredients together to create the marinade/sauce. Pour half over the potatoes, and half over the sausage/broccoli. Mix well using your hands so all pieces are covered. I like to massage the oil into the broccoli - it creates the BEST flavor and crispiness!
- Add ONLY the potatoes to the pan, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and add the sausage and broccoli to the potatoes. Toss everything together and then spread back out evenly. Return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
- Check to see how browned everything is - if you like super crispy broccoli and potatoes like I do, add an additional 5 mins to the timer. Remove, serve with some Whole30 approved ranch dressing (Tessemae's is my favorite!) and enjoy!

Roasted chicken sausage and veggies is a staple in our house, but the addition of the sauce puts a whole new twist on it! Such an easy sauce to throw together with items on hand and it completely transforms the dish. We made it with white sweet potatoes and loved it. Looking forward to changing up the veggies each time for a new take. Thanks Mary!
So glad you enjoyed it, Sarah! Thanks!
Super simple and easy with great flavor. Made it with sweet potatoes and it turned out well!
Awesome – thanks Rachel!
I made this tonight and it was amazing! And my husband LOVED it. So flavorful and going to be a staple in our dinner rotation!
Thank you, Hilary! I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Made this as a simple weeknight dinner and it was delicious! I can see why it’s such a popular recipe!!
Thanks Nikki! Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a hit with the whole family! The sauce makes this dish so flavorful. I will be making this often!
I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks Sarah!
It seems like I always try one of your recipes when I’m rushed and short on time….it was the same for this one and as usual it turned out great! So quick and easy and so flavorful too! Perfect for half-way through a Whole30!
Yay! So happy to hear this, Lucy! Thanks 🙂
Another amazing recipe Mary! I love a good sheet pan dinner and this one was so easy to make and tasted delicious! The way the potatoes get with the sauce are unreal…so crispy and tender! We will be making this one again for sure 🙂
Thank you so much!!
What if I dont have Coconut aminos? Is there anything I can sub for this? Thanks!!
Hi- you can do Tamari for gluten free or soy sauce for non- gluten free!
My 13 year old and I both inhaled this and declared it one of the best things I’ve ever made. I used the only sausage I had on hand, which is the same you mentioned above from Costco. Wow.
I’m so glad to hear this! Such a great compliment. Thanks Kelli!
So good! I did green beans instead of broccoli and it worked perfectly.
Yay! Thanks Courtney!
Delicious, I’m not on whole 30 just happened to stumble upon this recipe while searching for potato sausage and broccoli recipes, so happy I found this one. I used soy sauce instead of coconut aminos because it’s all I had, should have skipped the extra salt in that case BUT it was SOOOO good. LOVE the marinade/sauce so much. Tons of flavor. I also used sausage patties and browned them in a pan first. Thank you, thank you!!
Thank you Alissa! Great to know it works with soy sauce, too! Thank you!
This is my favorite recipe from Mary’s Whole Life. It’s so good! I have made it every week for the past month and a half. It’s quick, makes plenty of servings, and is really versatile. It’s great on its own, it’s great with a little mayo, it’s great with a fried egg! Must try recipe!
Thanks Katie!!
Looks basic, tastes incredible. I did not except the kick of flavor from this recipe and it is SO easy to make. I almost always have these ingredient on hand, so I can throw this together when I am tired but craving something really flavorful. Another win from Mary. I don’t know how she does it, but every recipe I have made from her site is as flavorful as it is easy!!! Magic!
Thank you Caroline!!
Where can I find nutritional values/info for this recipe?
Unfortunately I do not track them here yet – hope to start having this capability soon!
Can you think of anything that would be a good sub for the sausage for vegetarians that you could cook the same way?
More veggies or vegan sausage would be the options I think would work best!
Easy and delicious! It adds some new flavors to an already easy meal.
Thank you Krista!
This was the easiest recipe to make! I am
always hesitant about cooking with chicken apple sausage because I got so sick of it during my whole 30, but Mary fave it a great new spin with tons of flavor! Highly recommend for a quick but delicious meal!!
Thanks Kelly! I used to feel the same way about the chicken apple sausage until this recipe 🙂
So easy and tasty! I love it for meal prepping lunches!
This was sooo good! It tasted way different than I was expecting it to but in a good way! My hubby thought it was delicious too! 🙂
Yay! Glad to hear that!
I first made this recipe when I did a Whole 30 last year but have made it many times since then (at least once a month). My boyfriend recently told me it was one of his top five favorite meals that I’ve ever made for him. So easy, so delicious and the leftovers reheat really well!
Thats amazing, Taylor! Thank you!
