Ingredient Notes
Ribeye Steaks: I used boneless ribeye steak for this recipe. They were about 16 oz each and 1 1/2 inches thick. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of your steaks. Look for black angus ribeye steak if possible – it will have the best marbling and flavor.
Spices: sea salt, pepper, garlic powder. I personally believe less is more when it comes to flavoring steak, so I keep it simple here! These have lots of flavor without needing to add a ton of spices. Feel free to use steak seasoning if desired.
Butter: I love adding a pat of butter to the top of a steak while it rests after cooking. You can also use vegan butter for dairy free. You can also make an herb butter to put on top of the steak – this recipe has a great compound butter!.
Fresh parsley: This adds great flavor along with the butter.
I also use olive oil or avocado oil spray on the basket and on top of the steaks.
How To Make The Best Juicy Air Fryer Ribeye Steak
- Preheat air fryer to 400 for 3 minutes. Season the tops, bottoms and both sides of the steaks with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil, then add the steaks. You may need to do one at a time depending on the size of your air fryer. Lightly spray the top of the steaks.
- Air fry for 6 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes for medium rare. Cooking time will also depend on the thickness of the steaks. If you have thicker steaks, you may need to increase cooking time by 1-2 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer to cook to your desired doneness level. For medium rare, they should be removed when the internal temperature is 130-135. For the perfect medium with a pink center, aim for 145.
- Let the steaks rest tented with foil for 5 minutes. Serve your air-fried ribeye topped with a pat of butter and fresh parsley along with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!
