Ingredient Notes
See the recipe card below for a complete list of ingredients!
Greek Yogurt: This is the creamy base of this Big Mac Sauce recipe. It is a great low fat and high protein replacement for mayo. Feel free to use mayo if you have a dairy allergy! I like to use non-fat, plain Greek yogurt.
Ketchup: I try to use sugar free brands like Primal Kitchen. Ketchup is not usually included in homemade Big Mac Sauce recipes, but I like to add it for flavor and color.
Pickle relish: I love to use sweet pickle relish. Dill pickle relish also works. You can find this in the condiment section of your grocery store. It adds the best tang and crunch to this sauce!
Coconut aminos: This is a great gluten free replacement for soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce. It also adds a nice sweetness to this sauce. You can sub Worcestershire if you have a gluten free brand on hand.
Yellow mustard: Dijon will also work well here!
Spices: salt & paprika – this adds a bit of a smoky flavor and also color to this burger sauce. Feel free to add in some garlic powder and onion powder for additional savory flavors.

Mary’s Tips & Tricks
Make ahead: You can make this Big Mac Sauce up to 3 days ahead of time. Prep it and save time at the dinnertime rush!
Storage: Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Make sure to stir it up before serving in case it settles!
Variations: Add in some diced jalapenos, sriracha, cayenne pepper, or hot sauce to this copycat big mac sauce recipe for a little kick! If you want it to be on the sweeter side, add 1 tsp maple syrup. For more tangy flavor, add in a small splash of white vinegar or white wine vinegar.
What To Serve With Big Mac Sauce
I love drizzling this sauce on all things burger-related, but it’s also great with Air Fryer Potato Wedges and my Copycat Chick Fil A Nuggets (the best chicken nuggets ever)! I bet onion rings would be amazing dipped in this sauce. It can also be used as a replacement for french dressing or Thousand Island dressing in my Reuben Bowl recipe. Try drizzling it on hot dogs – super delicious!
Recipe FAQ’s
This homemade version is gluten free. On their website, McDonald’s states that all of the components of a big mac except for the bun are gluten free. You can request it without a bun, however they cannot guarantee there will not be cross contamination.
Unfortunately they are not gluten free because they are fried in oil that has been cross-contaminated.

Tasty. Made it with soy yogurt, doubled the ketchup to match my taste. Used the rest on scrambled tofu the next day.
Glad you enjoyed it!
