Sausage, Potato & Broccoli Sheet Pan Supper {Whole30}
This sausage, potato, and broccoli sheet pan supper is Whole30 friendly and comes together in just 30 minutes. It is marinated in a savory sauce that takes this simple meal to a whole new level!
Anyone else love a sheet pan supper or meal that can be made in ONE pot or ONE pan? I don’t know about you, but for me, less dishes = more happiness. I am a big meat and potatoes kinda gal if you couldn’t already tell, so this combo of sausage, potato, and broccoli is RIGHT up my alley! It’s hearty and makes a ton of leftovers, so you are technically multi-tasking. Making dinner AND meal prepping for lunches and other dinners throughout the week at the same time!
Which sausage should I use?
I don’t know why I was so anti Aidell’s Chicken & Apple Sausage prior to a couple of weeks ago. I don’t even know if I had actually TRIED it until then, I just figured if you could get it at a normal grocery store and didn’t have to hunt it down at a Whole Foods or Sprouts, then it probably wasn’t that good. (so sad, I know… HA). It also seems to be the staple Whole30 sausage that people complain about getting sick of easily. Maybe that turned me off, as well. BUT, turns out it’s pretty freaking amazing, especially baked! Sometimes chicken sausages kinda gross me out if they aren’t cooked all the way through (even though they are pre-cooked, the consistency just freaks me out). However, baking/roasting them gets them nice and crispy and OH SO tasty.
I recently tried it with the Paleo Cracked Black Pepper and Basil Chicken Sausage (Sabatino’s brand- pictured above) from Costco, and OMG – so good!! I bet it would be delicious with some Pederson Farms Kielbasa, as well. Bottom line – use whatever sausage you want! Just check to make sure it’s sugar free if you’re doing a Whole30.
The simple marinade/sauce that goes over this is so versatile. You can really combine any meat and veggies and potatoes with the sauce and I can guarantee it will turn out tasty! The pan is your oyster. or whatever. LOL feel free to get creative!
The rule of thumb for sheet pan dinners is to make sure that everything is relatively the same thickness. The potatoes take a bit longer to cook than the sausage and broccoli in this meal, so we add them about 15 minutes after the start of cook time to even things out.
I like to dip this in some Whole30 compliant ranch dressing – Tessemae’s is my absolute favorite! I get it on Thrive Market, which is an awesome online health food store. They sell a ton of Whole30 compliant pantry items for less than retail price! Think Whole Foods meets Costco. Use this link to get 25% off your first Thrive Market order + a 30-day free trial! Oh and PS – if you aren’t a broccoli fan, try this. You may just become one 🙂

Sausage, Potato & Broccoli Sheet Pan Supper
Ingredients
- 1 package of 4 Aidell's Chicken & Apple Sausage, cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces, or chicken/pork sausage of choice
- 6-8 medium-sized red potatoes, cut into 1-2 inch cubes
- 1 head broccoli (or 12 oz package), chopped into florets
- ½ cup olive oil , or avocado oil
- ¼ cup coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Frank's Red Hot, or other hot sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes, more or less depending on how spicy you like things!
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper. Add diced potatoes to a medium sized bowl. Add chopped sausage and broccoli to a separate bowl.
- Whisk remaining ingredients together to create the marinade/sauce. Pour half over the potatoes, and half over the sausage/broccoli. Mix well using your hands so all pieces are covered. I like to massage the oil into the broccoli - it creates the BEST flavor and crispiness!
- Add ONLY the potatoes to the pan, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and add the sausage and broccoli to the potatoes. Toss everything together and then spread back out evenly. Return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
- Check to see how browned everything is - if you like super crispy broccoli and potatoes like I do, add an additional 5 mins to the timer. Remove, serve with some Whole30 approved ranch dressing (Tessemae's is my favorite!) and enjoy!

Oh my goodness this is freaking amazing! I know its antiquated – but when you are dating and need a meal that is easy but the guy will scarf down like you are a chef and be like ” this girl can cook” THIS IS THE ONE. The only thing I add to this recipe is sliced onions to roast as well and a fresh avocado on top. Always get requests for second helpings and love how quick it is.
So much better than the standard “throw chicken sausage in a pan and cook some veggies” quick weeknight dinner – love the flavor and the kick of spice. Mary, your recipes are such a lifesaver and are amazing on and off Whole30. Definitely including this recipe on the regular Mary rotation!
Thanks Lauren! So glad you love it!
This is in my regular rotation. We absolutely love it! I’ve swapped cauliflower for broccoli and sweet potatoes for regular potatoes. Always fantastic. The sauce is incredible.
I share this recipe with all my friends and everyone raves about it. One of my girlfriends daughters actually requested it for their family dinner tonight which made me realize I needed to leave a review. I do cut back on some of the oil and it doesn’t change the taste at all.
Thank you for creating such great recipes Mary. I’m working my way through your new cookbook!
Thank you so much Julie! Glad to hear you love it!
That marinade is amazing!
This was so delicious that two of us almost finished the entire pan in one sitting. I used grass fed beef sausage instead of chicken sausage. The only thing is wish I had added is onion slices.
Loved this meal. Going to add it to my weekly rotation of meals. The sauce is perfect- a little hot and sweet.
Thanks for another great recipe! We’ve made this quite a few times now. Even my non broccoli loving kiddos eat it up, and everyone loves it.
Good for dinner and even better for breakfast with an egg sunny side up 😭 those are tears of joy just thinking about this incredible meal. I’ve made it for friends before and it LITERALLY jumpstarted their journey for healthier eating! They couldn’t believe something healthy could taste so good
This is a keeper and such a great way to utilize what I normally have on hand. Subbed sweet potatoes because that’s what I had and it was amazing! As someone who’s had to modify her diet to be DF and GF, Mary has been a lifesaver!
We make this recipe at least twice a month in my house! It is a big hit. We love how crispy the potatoes and broccoli get, and the flavor of the sauce is so delicious. My husband doesn’t like salty flavors, so sometimes if I’m using soy sauce I reduce the amount a little bit for him. If I have coconut aminos on hand, the sweetness they give is perfect! Great recipe.
One of my favorite all time recipes!
My family really enjoyed this last night for dinner! I opted to add 1 red pepper diced large to up the veggie content for my 9yo. He rated it a 7/10 🙂 To note, I do not follow Whole30 and did not add the coconut aminos and it still came out great. Next time I’ll add 1/8 cup of low-sodium Tamari or Soy Sauce as and lower the salt as suggested in another comment. Definitely adding this to my quick dinner weeknight rotation!
What is the calorie per serving making it as a meal prep?
I used your sauce on chicken thighs earlier this week. Really enjoyed it so I made the sheet pan tonight…Fabulous! Hearty, Homey and a Hit with my whole family, even the 16 year old football player!!!
Made this tonight for the first time. I Had to sub in sweet potatoes but it’s definitely a fall keeper! So much flavor! Yum!
Glad you loved it! Thanks Dianne!
This is a huge favorite in our house! So so quick and easy, and makes delicious leftovers for breakfast if you throw and egg on top!!
The sauce is amazing! This is such an easy healthy meal.
A household favorite!! Some times I switch up the protein and veggies for what we have on hand but one thing remains the same-THE SAUCE 🤤🤤 Such a simple meal that packs a punch with flavor-bonus that it is easy clean up!
Thank you Mary!! <3
Oh my heck!😍🤤 This was fantastic Mary!! I used the Sabatino’s Basil & Cracked Black Pepper sausage, and baby potatoes cut in half (because I’m ALL about easy lol). This is for aure going into our regular dinner rotation!
Thank you, Lucrezia!
The easiest, best, one pan meal ever!!! So flavorful and cooks super quickly. I’ve also used the sauce as a chicken marinade and it’s AMAZING! If you haven’t made this yet, do it now!
Thank you so much, Alexis! Glad you love it!
