Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1.5 tsp matcha I like the packets of Pique Life Sun Goddess Matcha
  • 2-3 oz hot water (not boiling)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice

Strawberry Cold Foam

  • 3 strawberries
  • ¼ cup original Nutpods creamer or half & half
  • 1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Add the matcha to a small bowl and pour hot water over.
  • Add maple syrup. Use a frother or matcha brush to mix. Set aside.
  • Add the strawberries, Nutpods, & maple syrup to a blender. Blend until it resembles strawberry milk.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice ¾ of the way, then fill halfway with almond milk.
  • Pour in the matcha and stir.
  • Pour the strawberry cold foam on top and gently stir. Enjoy!

Notes

Expert Tips

  • To make this with regular dairy, simply swap the almond milk for regular whole milk or use half and half instead of Nutpods!
  • If you don’t want to use almond milk you can choose any non-dairy option like coconut milk or cashew milk. Use soy milk or oat milk for a nut-free option.
  • You can use a handheld frother or a matcha whisk set for this recipe. You’ll also need a high-powdered blender for the cold foam.
  • Choosing the right matcha is important! There are 2 different grades of matcha: ceremonial matcha and culinary grade. I recommend using ceremonial grade matcha powder as it is the highest quality, has better flavor, and is less bitter.

Serving & Storage Tips

This strawberry matcha tea is best served immediately after making it. I don’t recommend storing it, as it will not be as good as when served fresh.
