It’s that time of year again – BACK TO SCHOOL! Summer is winding down, it’s time to get back into a routine, and also time to….dun dun dun…. start packing lunches again! I have a love/hate relationship with packing lunches. I usually start off strong and then get into a rut of packing the same mundane PB&J/boring stuff everyday. But not this year! My goal is to incorporate more real food and fun, healthy snacks into my kids lunches! Sometimes we just need to get a little creative 🙂
We recently had the opportunity to try out some healthier snacks from a company called Real Food From the Ground Up, and my kids are loving them! I am excited to be partnering with them to highlight some of their products, and also share some fun back to school lunch ideas.
What is Real Food From the Ground Up?
They are a company rooted in the belief that food should be tasty and nutritious. Their mission is to create balanced snacks for everyone to enjoy. They gather real veggies, a few clean ingredients, and a dash of goodness to create better-for-you snacks that taste delicious!
First up are these Cauliflower Tortilla Chips, which are DELICIOUS. They are vegan, certified gluten free, grain free, and made with cassava and cauliflower! The best part? My kids had NO idea that they were any different than “normal” tortilla chips, and they even ask for them everyday now.
In this lunch box, we have Annabel’s new obsession – Applegate ham, Kite Hill Foods almond milk cream cheese, and Grillo’s pickle roll ups (sounds weird, but they are actually quite delish!), carrots, mango, strawberries, blueberries, the tortilla chips, and some Enjoy Life Foods chocolate chips.

As you can see from the ingredients, they have all kinds of veggies snuck in there! Love it! I am totally guilty of not getting enough veggies into my kids’ diets. I love that I can do that easily with these yummy snacks!
Next up with have some Cauliflower Cracks in Cheddar Flavor. These are also vegan, certified gluten free, plant based, and are an amazing source of Vitamin A, C, D, E and B1! They also come individually packed bags, making for easy lunch packing. The verdict from the kiddos was that these are “just like Cheez-Its”. Winning!
In this lunch box, we have a grass fed meat stick, bananas and blackberries, some snap peas with ranch dressing, and the cauliflower cheddar crackers. Annabel insisted on helping me make both of the lunches pictured here, so everything shown is stuff she likes and will actually eat.
Check out the ingredients in these – definitely better than most of the kids snacks on the shelves these days.
Overall, I am so excited that my kids (and I lol) love these snacks. I’m happy that I there are healthier options out there for easy packing/snacking! I can’t wait to share more about some of their other plant based products and other lunch box ideas next month! Stay tuned.
Until then, here is the store locator again so you can find out where Real Food From the Ground Up snacks are sold near you!
Happy Back to School week (here in Maryland!)
